EPIC Report: FTC's Market Approach Has Failed to Protect Consumer Privacy
In conjunction with the opening of EPIC's first satellite office in San Francisco, California, EPIC has released a policy report arguing that self-regulation has failed to meaningfully address consumer privacy. This paper argues that the FTC and Congress should reevaluate their commitment to market approaches, and empower consumers with privacy law that incorporates Fair Information Practices. (Mar. 3)
