100 bodies plucked from Tigris river
Baghdad, April 20

- One hundred bodies have been retrieved from Tigris River in the al-Sawrah region near the city of Madaen, al-Sabah newspaper reported.

The corpses feared to belong to those who had been taken hostage in recent attacks on Madain, the daily said, but Iraq defence ministry officials have not confirmed the report.

According to the newsparer, another 12 corpses have been found in a poultry farm nearby.

Falah Hasan al-Naqib, Iraqi interior minister, rejected hostage taking in Madaen.
