eBay cancels Schwarzenegger auction

RAW STORY

The California Nurses Association was selling California's Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger -- on eBay.

eBay, however, yanked the auction Tuesday evening.

RAW STORY was tipped to the story from an inside source Tuesday afternoon.

"As Governor of the state, Arnold has provided corporate bidders unfettered access to 35 million Californians so that they can realize profits beyond wildest dreams!" the nurses wrote.

They alleged he had allowed corporations to strip hospitals of patient-care regulations; shortchange caregivers; and "bleed the public health safety net to their own ends."

The nurses' Schwarzenegger came with a "100 percent corruption guarantee."

The Association has been pushing actor Warren Beatty to run for the state's highest office, but latest reports suggest he won't. Beatty recently spoke to the nurses' conference.

Schwarzenegger's spokeswoman Margita Thompson told AP, "We don't care that much about Warren Beatty, and based on his ticket sales from the past generation, I doubt anyone else does either." The governor has suggested Beatty is "jealous" of his "successful policies."

The California Nurses Association is currently negotiating to enter the AFL-CIO labor union. The state's KGO TV says "the nurses union, along with teachers, firefighters and police officers have kicked the governor around, protesting his every appearance and helping drive down his approval rating by 30 points in less than a year."
