BLAZING FIRE SALE
Jason Tharp joined the Marines to pay for art school and so his parents wouldn't have to pay.
His training began shortly after Christmas and two months later he was dead, drowning on the last day of water-survival training.
A news crew had filmed a confrontation between Tharp and his drill instructor the day before his death.Five days before that, he had written to his parents pleading, "If you can get me out I will forever be grateful."
A New York couple established a scholarship fund in Jason's name to help students pay for college -- something Jason did not have.
