DeLay, Abramoff, Safavian: The GOP Mafia on their way to the Big House

November 22, 2005 -- Texas prosecutor Ronnie Earle working closely with Federal prosecutors. Informed sources report that Texas District Attorney Ronnie Earle, who has indicted suspended House Majority Leader Tom DeLay for money laundering and criminal conspiracy, is working closely with his Federal counterparts. After White House Office of Management and Budget procurement administrator David Hossein Safavian was arrested on September 19 this year, he began cooperating with Federal investigators. Information provided by Safavian to the Federal prosecutors that was shared with Earle gave the Travis County prosecutor enough evidence to indict DeLay, which he did on September 28, one week after Safavian's arrest. With the plea agreement of DeLay's former chief of staff Michael Scanlon, a close associate of Casino Jack Abramoff, the walls are closing in on DeLay. Informed sources in Texas report that Safavian "sang like a canary" and gave Federal investigators information on connections between DeLay and Abramoff and three Florida mobsters charged with murdering Florida casino cruise boats owner Gus Boulis -- Anthony Moscatiello, Anthony Ferrari, and James Fiorillo. The bottom line, according to law enforcement insiders, is that DeLay's indictment on money laundering and conspiracy are the least of his worries. "He may be looking at being charged with conspiracy to commit murder," according to a knowledgeable source.
