Bush’s policies will stay after 2008
BUSH is facing a trouble losing the support he always had from both the Christian and Jewish fundamentalists. In a recent incident Jews refused Bush’s candidate, Harriet Myers, to the Supreme Court.
The disregard Bush is facing now is adding losses to him. Losing support is increasing difficulties and problems in his life.
The BUSH administration caused “American Losses.” It failed to justify the real reason behind IRAQ war; it failed to reconstruct the country as it promised, carried out abuses in various places, tortured prisoners, and overloaded the American economy with extra expenses without a beneficial return.
Americans are concerned with the “unemployment, low wages and the precarious state of U.S. education, health care and social security.” With all these issues that need a huge fund, tax exemption for millionaires increased.
According to WatchingAmerica.com, those scandals were carried out by high officials. For instance, “Tom Delay, the corrupt demoted Republican legislative leader in the House of Representatives. Also, the forced resignation of Lewis Libby, Vice President Cheney's right-hand man, after being indicted for leaking the name of an undercover CIA agent.” And most importantly for the American people the rise in the price of gasoline.
Lies and corruption occurred with BUSH in office. Americans need to stabilize the national problems then turn to solving the international ones. The Bush administration is weak in handling the domestic issues and more lies are being told for the out of focus policy the administration is pursuing.
Bush insists on referring to reports about abuses in Guantanamo as allegations; however, those abuses are uncovered by agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI agents wrote that "they had seen female interrogators forcibly squeeze male prisoners' genitals, and that they had witnessed other detainees stripped and shackled low to the floor for many hours," Bushlies.net said.
Moreover, the Bush administration asserted to the whole world that Iraq possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction. However, the inspectors didn’t find them. According to the CIA’s Duelfer’s Report, IRAQ “had no WMD; no strategy or plan for the revival of WMD after the UN sanctions. Iraq’s nuclear program ended in 1991 following the Gulf War. There are no credible indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter.”
Condoleezza Rice had previously announced that a decrease in the number of troops in Iraq will happen. This decision was the result of “pressure from Republican legislators worried about their legislative reelection next year, and even from likely presidential candidates from that party in 2008.”
Contrary to what was previously mentioned, “Washington increased troop levels by almost the same number that it has now announced will be withdrawn after the polls.” The increase in the troops is being justified by being supervising forces during the Iraqi legislative elections that will take place December 15. A number of 140,000 of the U.S. troops will remain in IRAQ until the Iraqi security forces gain the ability of maintaining security alone. Therefore, the exact date for withdrawal is still undecided.
The reason behind the invasion of Iraq which was told to the American people and the whole world is only a lie among other lies which the authorities say. Lies about IRAQ are being said by the “neoconservatives in the White House and in every branch of political power, including the media.”
According to watching America.com, “the invasion of Iraq is part of plan to project power which involves fateful, irremediable actions, both domestically and abroad.”
Now in the U.S. civilians are being deceived by the BUSH administration; they are being deprived from their liberties with time. The capital owners are becoming favored more than the average American citizen.
The BUSH administration is invading countries which it sees interest in. Putting away the fake reasons said by the administration, Bush wants the countries with “important oil reserves, fresh water and biodiversity, as well as markets, if necessary under the rubric of pre-emptive war.” That is stated in the National Security Strategy of the United States.
As mentioned on watching America.com that “the Bush gang is tied to the directors of mega-corporations in the oil, finance, agriculture, pharmaceutical and war industries, and to its neo-liberal think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute.”
These policies will continue with Bush’s administration or with the new administration that will follow him. Analysts argue that the case will remain the same. They name it “Bushismo without BUSH .” They say that although the Bush administration is unpopular, the Republicans will carry on the same policies.
There is no link between the un-favored Bush administration and a probability of huge gain for the Democrats because America is a country where people don’t vote. There is almost no possibility for the Democrats as an alternative for the Republicans “even for the Presidency in 2008.”
Thinker and essayist Gore Vidal in La Jornada, expressed his opinion saying, “There is no chance of a ‘viable opposition’ emerging in the United States in terms of an electoral alternative, unless it comes ‘from the grassroots’.”
