Bush challenges hundreds of laws

WASHINGTON -- President Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office, asserting that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution.
Among the laws Bush said he can ignore are military rules and regulations, affirmative-action provisions, requirements that Congress be told about immigration services problems, ''whistle-blower" protections for nuclear regulatory officials, and safeguards against political interference in federally funded research.
Legal scholars say the scope and aggression of Bush's assertions that he can bypass laws represent a concerted effort to expand his power at the expense of Congress, upsetting the balance between the branches of government. The Constitution is clear in assigning to Congress the power to write the laws and to the president a duty ''to take care that the laws be faithfully executed." Bush, however, has repeatedly declared that he does not need to ''execute" a law he believes is unconstitutional.

The amazing thing to me is that the people, and the congress, have allowed it to happen.
You all have allowed the school bullies to take over the school, only this is not a school, this is your country and you all have handed it over to these willful, vindictive bullies.

Sometimes though, I think it still confuses you because the subversion was so nuanced, its kinda like, 'You just had to be here to understand'.
You know what? I KNOW you do understand, BUT even you overthink it sometimes.
It is because you assumed we were free at some point and the anomoly, the propaganda BEGAN in some moment.
It wasn't like that. I have recently had to accept the self discovery of realizing I had been PROGRAMMED my entire life, for nationalist responses.
We all were. WE are NUMBER ONE.
I was told that all my life, it was sacrosanct, I never doubted it, I never questioned it. It was a fact because .... Because it was.
There is no begginning, where does it end? How can reality and existance no longer mean the same thing? Just because evidence EXISTS does not mean it is REAL.
I think you overthink it because it is SO strange. All of it, is so odd to your mind, it becomes... layered into sections.
From the moment I was born I was seduced by an empire that is unlike any other. An empire that BELONGS TO ME.
Yet, at the same time I was taught the very vision of empire is a shameful one. I think we were programmed to shameless.
I realized recently that no empire can exist without massive subjugation of those that support it on their backs.
There will always be more that can be taken. There will always be those drunk enough with power as to believe that no law applies to them. There will always be genocidal madmen among us.
The rest of the world does not know how to seperate the United States Citizens from the US government, and in these times that is regretful.
YOU understand, at least the mechanics, of how a rouge regime came to be in control of the United States of America. Even understanding does not dispell your...confusion, horror, shock, at what we have become.
I read this 'You all have allowed the school bullies to take over the school' and I love you so much Rossi, but I just want to scream NO NO NO.
WE did not allow this. You know the resistance was there, you know what has happened here, I know you do. You do not have to call us victims, but at the same time, MY GOD look what they have done? They effectivly crushed the truth into the earth and our future was stomped into an early grave with it. How do we resist what is overwhelming and diabolical?
How does the mighty USA save itself?
How do we fight for freedom when we already BELIEVE we are FREE inspite of the chains?
BUT... As I see it from in here, there is a more pressing question... One that will likely be the death of us all.
How do you stop an empire without killing the nation that birthed it...? How can we extract a global empire from the souls of a nations people?
Murderous bullies. How do you stop murderous and all powerful bullies?
I wish God would provide those answers for us, because in 50 or so thousand years of evolution, mankind has yet to find a way.
And my country is about to tear itself apart trying to find answers.
God Christy, I do not have the answers, I know, you know how much the Highest Court in the land handing the PRESEDENCY to the INFANTILE BULLY that now resides in the White House, horrified me, I find myself trying to understand why your country has taken over so much of my life.
I realise being so close to deaths door, makes you think about what is happening around you, not that I did not always have very stong thoughts on the world around me, I watched Presidents come and go, I liked some and disliked others but there it stopped, but at the time of the 2000 election, Laying in bed, very close to death, watching everything that eventuated with that election, I looked Evil in the eye, and it horrified me.
For me your FAMILY is the greatest gift from God, that you can receive in this lifetime, and they are put into your hands to protect with your life. Tonys Dying when my babies where so young made me fight even harder to protect my family, and I sat and watched 2 Elections, one handed over to these thugs by your Supreme Court, and one stolen by one State and Governor, Its all there, all recorded and no reaction, no reaction at all, to me it was like handing the most important people in your life, over to rapists, and killers, and saying, do what you will with them, use them in whatever way that you want to, I birthed them to do your evil, and if they are killed or lost to you forever so be it.
Well Your bloody President and his army of Goons can get fucked, because They and Howard will never lay one of their dirty fingers on my family not in this lifetime, they will never in this lifetime be able to call my children or grandchildren colatoral damage, for doing their dirty work, their killing, while their children are safe behind closed doors with loads of security agents watching their backs.
You are a nation of 3 Hundred Million Christy, My mind boggles at the thought of that 3 Hundred Million, and you could only get 40% of the people out to vote, for the people that will make the rules and laws that protect your children, Your job does not end, raising your children, the best you know how, with the principles you hope they grow up with,if you do not give a darn, about the govt and the rules of law that you put into power.
At least here in Australia, our country votes, we have to and we do not vote into machines, we have a first choice and a second choice on written ballots. I watch your Country tell the rest of the world how they are to vote and, and I say get over yourselves and that is in mild terms, when you can vote with honesty in you own Country, then and only then do you have the rights to tell the rest of the world how they are to vote.
I watch Faux News and the diviates, who think they are Gods, telling the world, what they are to think and how they are to live their lives, and I say shove it you will never tell me what to think and how to think, I have watched them crucify so many
people, they think they are judge and jury, it is like puppets being led to the slaughter, but they are taking their families with them.
For me the answer to your question, is that it has got to be important enough for your people to get out and vote in numbers, where they cannot screw the vote. It has got to be important enough for your people to want to protect their families from the White House itself, if it is not a Moral White House.

Australia is in bad hands too, thanks to Howard and Murdoch. I appreciate you, Rossi, for taking a stand against them.
But America is seriously on the wrong track... for sure.
