US military airforce strikes at residential quarters in Ramadi
Arabmonitor
Ramadi, 18 June - Hundreds of US occupation forces, aided by Iraqi armed forces, are on rampage in Ramadi. The troops are controlling all access points to the city which has been cordoned off since 10 June, deprived of water and electricity. US military airforce is repeatedly striking at residential areas, while ground forces roam through the streets calling on the residents to evacuate the city. Sheikh Fassal Jaoud, former governor of the Anbar province declared the situation is catastrophic and residents fear the US occupation forces are planning a mass offensive like that on Falluja in November 2004, saying "the fearful city is haunted by memories of the battles that raged in nearby Fallujah in 2004.
Determined to purge that city of insurgents, US Marine and Army units lined up to the north and pushed south through to the heart of Fallujah ... By the time the sweep was over, the town was largely destroyed." Elsewhere, in Baghdad, despite the massive security crackdown in the capital, this morning a group of 14 armed men, one of whom in uniform, arrived in four vehicles in front of the Wisam bakery in the Kadimiya quarter and kidnapped 10 bakery workers.
