Laura Bush: North to Alaska (without Dubya).

July 27, 2006 -- Laura Bush ditches George, heads north to Alaska. The following was posted today by Douglas Yates on Fairbanks Open Radio:

"According to an informed sources, Laura Bush is vacationing in Denali National Park. It’s Laura’s secret adventure; she’s flying solo. George was not invited. The president’s wife arrived Sunday and dined at '229,' near Carlo Creek. On Monday, she toured the park’s visitor center, although her visit was without the usual fanfare. There was no public announcement. Few, if any, of the park’s multitudes took notice. The LL Bean-clad secret service detail appeared more visible than their charge. All visitor center employees were instructed via memo to look their best. Laura then traveled, presumably via helicopter, to one of Kantishna’s high-end resorts. On Friday, she’s scheduled at a luncheon at the Murie Science and Learning Center, where she’ll meet a group of university students. Denali National Park offers Laura a cool respite from the rigors of Washington, D.C. in July. And given the rumors that are swirling around her marriage, it’s as far away from George as one can get and not leave the country."

WMR previously reported that the First Lady and Mr. Bush were having marital problems as a result of an ongoing affair between Mr. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Perhaps Mrs. Bush will find out first hand about the ravages of global warming in the Arctic during her visit to Alaska and tell her mentally retarded husband that global warming is not "silly science."
