President Chavez of Venezuela compared Israeli acts in Lebanon to the Holocaust. The word may not be out of place as we watch Israel’s Nazi-style blitzkrieg, its scorched-earth policy, its massacre of the innocent, the bombing of refugees, the killing of children, the destruction of villages, towns, cities, electricity stations, water plants, roads, harbours, airports, and its merciless obstruction to humanitarian aid reaching the distressed. They order Lebanese residents south of the Litani river to abandon their homes and have made homeless more than half a million people. In clear breach of international law and UN conventions, they make no distinction between civilians and soldiers...
