Karzai, coalition clash on bombing deaths
President Hamid Karzai says at least 10 policemen have been killed in Afghanistan when a coalition plane mistakenly bombed a patrol, but the US-led force says it has only hit "extremists".
Elsewhere, two suicide bombs have struck the south of the war-torn country, wounding a US soldier and eight policemen.
The coalition has announced it has killed eight rebels in a gun battle in the east.
The violence is the latest in a surge of attacks in Afghanistan blamed largely on the extremist Taliban movement that was toppled by a coalition of foreign forces and Afghan factions nearly five years ago.
