Bush's 'Dirty War' Amnesty Law

The United States is following a troubling path marked by previous "dirty war" governments -- granting amnesty to human rights violators, in this case apparently up to and including President George W. Bush. Yet the debate about the compromise legislation on the treatment of "war on terror" detainees has virtually ignored Bush's demand for amnesty, which has been slipped into the bill without using the word "amnesty" or even explaining what Bush has done that needs protection from future prosecution.
