More US dead in Iraq/Afghanistan than 9/11


September 3, 2006Not much of a peep about this in "the news."

Not much of a peep about this in "the news." The 9/11 attacks killed 2,973 people, not including the 19 hijackers who crashed four commercial airliners into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. The number of troops and military contractors who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan has now reached 2,974....

Have the deaths of these soldiers made us safer?

Bush says Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11: Tell that to the Troops

An overwhelming majority of 72% of American troops serving in Iraq think the U.S. should exit the country within the next year, and more than one in four say the troops should leave immediately, a new Le Moyne College/Zogby International survey shows.... While 85% said the U.S. mission is mainly "to retaliate for Saddam's role in the 9-11 attacks," 77% said they also believe the main or a major reason for the war was "to stop Saddam from protecting al Qaeda in Iraq." (Both False: Saddam had no ties to al-Qaeda, no role in 9/11)...
