Passengers of 13 different cars were kidnapped today in an operation near Balad town, north of Baghdad. An Iraqi security source said that an armed group disguised in police uniforms set up a phony check point after policemen moved from Sayed Ghareeb check point, south of Balad. They abducted tens of individuals and drove them, in the vehicles they were in, to unknown destinations. Two people were killed and four wounded in a mortar attack on a downtown neighborhood of Baghdad. Bush Signs Controversial Interrogation Bill...

President Bush signed legislation Tuesday authorizing tough interrogation of terror suspects and smoothing the way for trials before military commissions, calling it a "vital tool" in the war against terrorism.
Bush's plan for treatment of the terror suspects became law just six weeks after he acknowledged that the CIA had been secretly interrogating suspected terrorists overseas and pressed Congress to quickly give authority to try them in military commissions.

Possible Reasons:
They are bought and sold by the same lobbyists who by and sell Republicans.
They are flat scared of terrorists and their own shadows.
They don't know the meaning of habeas corpus.
They want to make money.
They are acting like Democrats always have; what time is it; is that coffee I smell?

There is no difference between the Democratic and Republican parties so long as people like these hold office.
They don't want you to have a fair trial.
If you disappear, that is unfortunate, but there is nothing they can do.
