Lieberman Won't Say If He's Supporting A Democratic Or Republican For Connecticut Governor...

Sen. Joe Lieberman, who lost Connecticut's Democratic primary and is running for re-election as an independent, won't say whether he supports the state's Democratic candidate for governor.

Lieberman told The Hartford Courant on Friday that his decision on whether to vote for Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell or Democratic New Haven Mayor John DeStefano will remain private.

Sen. Joe Lieberman may as well have worn a bull's-eye on his back during a debate with his Democratic and Republican rivals Monday.

Democrat Ned Lamont fired away, calling Lieberman a career politician in lockstep with President Bush's invasion of Iraq, while long-shot Republican Alan Schlesinger warned moderates to consider Lieberman's record of voting mostly with Democrats.
