October 23, 2006 -- WMR learned from UN sources that the Bush administration pressured Kuwait and Qatar into providing relief assistance for Hurricane Katrina recovery because the US Treasury was depleted over the financing of the war in Iraq and the tax cuts for billionaires. Qatar was coerced by the Bush administration into donating $100 million to the Qatar Katrina Relief Fund. Kuwait also contributed $100 million.
