November 8, 2006 -- WMR is truly outraged by the corporate veterans' organizations' support for a chickenhawk non-vet like Republican Peter Roskam over severely wounded and disabled Iraq War vet Tammy Duckworth in the Illinois 6th Congressional District. Roskam won the House seat in a very close election.

This is how the VFW national headquarters is explaining its disgraceful behavior: "Tammy Duckworth is a brave woman who will continue to make a difference in the lives of others, but the PAC cannot allow military service or VFW membership to be automatic endorsement qualifiers."

And just because some old and overweight vets like to wear goofy caps and blazers festooned with self-awarded dongles and pins does not mean this editor will automatically offer them any respect.
