We were secular and religious, Shia and Sunni, Iraqi and non-Iraqi. I read somewhere that Iraqi football was the only thing Iraqis agreed on. They only thing uniting them. True, because it reminded them of a time when they played together in the streets or the sand lot or the pitch. Now ask yourself why Sadr wanted to ban it.
