White House Aide Beaten And Robbed In Honolulu...

Meanwhile, a White House aide, acting travel office director Greg Pitts, was beaten and robbed by at least two men while out in Honolulu on Monday night. Pitts suffered head and other injuries in the attack. Though he has been awake and alert, he was taking doctors' advice to remain behind at a Honolulu hospital because of a possible concussion, White House spokesman Tony Fratto said.

Bush's Asia trip was shadowed by talk of wars past and present.

His trip to Vietnam inspired a fresh debate about whether today's increasingly difficult war inIraq has dangerous parallels to the failed American war in Southeast Asia three decades ago. The president ended his Asian tour with the stop in Hawaii, where the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor launched the United States' entry into World War II.

Three Honolulu Police Department motorcycle officers were injured when they crashed while accompanying President Bush's motorcade on Hickam Air Force Base this morning.

The president was on his way from Makalapa, where he and first lady Laura Bush spent the night, to Hickam for a breakfast with about 300 troops.

City ambulances took two officers to the Queen's Medical Center, while the third was taken to Queen's by federal emergency personnel.
