IRAQI security forces today found the bodies of 60 men shot dead execution style in apparent sectarian attacks in Baghdad, a security official said.
"Many of the victims were tortured, handcuffed and shot in their heads," the official said, describing the pattern seen in sectarian killings during the past few months in Baghdad which is the epicentre of Iraq's communal bloodletting.
Fifty-five bodies were found in Baghdad's western Karkh area and the rest were picked up from the eastern Rusafa region.
Three of the corpses were headless and were recovered from the northwestern Al-Hurriyah neighbourhood which has become a site of increasing sectarian violence.
