Clinton: Bush Should Pull Troops From Iraq Before He Leaves Office

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said today that President Bush's expectation that his successor would inherit the problems in Iraq was "the height of irresponsibility" and that Americans "should expect him to extricate our country" from the war there before he leaves office in early 2009.
After fairly gentle questioning from Iowa Democrats on Saturday, the first of a two-day visit to the state with the first-in-the-nation caucuses, Mrs. Clinton was hit with more challenging inquiries about Iraq, health care and wartime leadership during a town hall-style meeting in Davenport.
