Missing Adam Air jet with 100 on board sent distress signal, rescue teams dispatched, transport minister tells Indonesian radio.

An Indonesian passenger jet carrying about 100 people probably crashed, a military airport official said Monday, according to The Associated Press.

Rescue teams are searching for the Adam Air Boeing 737-400 aircraft that sent out a distress signal after it lost contact with flight controllers in bad weather between the islands of Java and Sulawesi.
