Republican Calls Mount For Gonzales To Go

Two more Republican congressmen called for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales's replacement on Thursday. Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR) "suggested that it would be helpful to have an attorney general that Congress could have more confidence in," his spokesman said.
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) said, "Even for Republicans this is a warning sign ... saying there needs to be a change. Maybe the president should have an attorney general who is less a personal friend and more professional in his approach."

Senator John Sununu called for President Bush to fire Gonzales on Wednesday.
