GOP Senators Misled on Prosecutor
The Bush administration fed Republican senators misleading talking points about the qualifications of a replacement for one of the eight fired U.S. Attorneys. Senior GOP senators then publicly praised interim U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin for his depth of prosecutorial experience. But government records appear to show that Griffin, a White House favorite, never actually tried a case as a prosecutor. April 18, 2007
