I get so tired and angry when Iraki exiles who left during the Saddam years and now live in safety and comfort in Europe and America deny this goes on. Much of the work that Ali and Mohammed’s groups does involves trying to persuade street children to go to some of the refugee camps where they will not have to prostitutes themselves for food. It does go on and it is not even a little surprising that children prostitute themselves. When you are that hungry and that vulnerable prostitution is almost inevitable. I don’t blame those children I blame those who prey upon them and those who created the conditions for it to exist. It is not surprising to me that children of refugees are turning to prostitution to support themselves as is mentioned in the video below.
