Gunmen kidnap senior official in Baghdad
BAGHDAD, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen in military uniforms abducted a senior official of an Iraqi ministry in central Baghdad Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"Gunmen in four sport utility vehicles, usually used by Iraqi security forces, stormed in the afternoon a building affiliated to the Ministry of Immigration and Refugees in the Palestine Street," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The gunmen abducted Tofan Abdul Wahab, director-general in the ministry and fled the scene, the source said.
On May 29, gunmen wearing police uniforms and riding police vehicles, snatched five Britons from a building affiliated to the Finance Ministry also in the Palestine Street.
