Chalabi-Allied Cartoonist and 11 Family Members Among Car Bomb Victims

Baghdad, Jul 28, (VOI) – Abdul Khaliq al-Habir al-Anbaki, a caricaturist in al-Mutamar newspaper, mouthpiece of the Iraqi National Congress party, headed by Ahmed al-Chalabi, was killed along with his 11-member-family in the car bombing attack that took place on Thursday in Karrada, central Baghdad last Thursday, said the INC party said on Saturday. "Abdul Khaliq al-Habir al-Anbaki was killed along with all of his family, eleven members, and there was no survivors except for his injured sister, who is in a critical condition," the party mourned the young caricaturist in a statement received by the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI). Al-Habir is a young caricaturist known for his criticizing and bold caricatures that appeared on the last page of the Baghdadi Mutamar daily issued by the Iraqi National Conference party, headed by Ahmed al-Chalabi. Karrada area witnessed a violent explosion caused by a truck bomb and resulted in the killing and injury of more than 145 civilian residents of the three buildings that brought down due to the explosion, in addition to a number of shoppers in the surrounding commercial area
