Truthout's Jason Leopold reports: "Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff advised the CIA between 2002 and 2003 that its agents had the legal authority to use techniques that included waterboarding on one of the agency's so-called 'high level detainees,' according to a little-known report published in January 2005. That interrogation was videotaped and the tape later was destroyed."
Mark Mazzetti and Scott Shane report for The New York Times, "At least four top White House lawyers took part in discussions with the Central Intelligence Agency between 2003 and 2005 about whether to destroy videotapes showing the secret interrogations of two operatives from Al Qaeda, according to current and former administration and intelligence officials."
