The murder rate in the US is 5.8 offenders per 100,000 people. for the male 18-24 age group it is about 27 per 100,000. For these returning veterans the rate is 1.38 per 100,000. This would show that combat Veterans are far less likely to commit murder than the average person. They kind of forgot to put that part in the article
