US public losing interest in Iraq as news coverage wanes: report

People in the US have "lost interest" in the war in Iraq as Iraqis continue to be maimed and killed, their infrastructure destroyed and neglected, and the official number of dead US soldiers hovers around 4,000. The loss of US public interest in the war is not by chance. The corporate media has shifted what skewed coverage they gave to the war on the people of Iraq to other "more important things", like their wall-to-wall coverage of Hillary, Barack and John in the 2008 elections, their hand-wringing over the collapsing economy or lurid stories on Hollywood/New York celebrities.
