Washington, Sept 5: Republican presidential candidate John McCain has said that as a former Navy fighter pilot and a prisoner of war in Vietnam, he had enough experience and knowhow to catch Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, as opposed to his rival Democratic presidential candidate Barak Obama.

He said this while responding to Obama's last week accusation that McCain's focus on the Iraq war, rather than pursuing Al Qaeda, had allowed bin Laden to escape in Afghanistan.

The Bush administration has for the past seven years failed to capture Osama, who is believed somewhere in the tribal areas along the Pak-Afghan border.

"President Clinton had opportunities to get Osama Bin Laden. President Bush had opportunities to get Osama Bin Laden. I know how to do it and I'll do it. I understand and I have the knowledge and the background and the experience to make the right judgments. Senator Obama does not," the Daily Times quoted McCain as saying in a TV interview.
