Half a million American children are in foster homes, and the need for them persists. NBC Nightly News' "Making A Difference" segment profiles John and Polly Lewis, a married couple in their mid-80s who have been taking in foster children for decades -- and they're still at it.
They've been parents to over 80 children since the mid-1970s and have made a difference in all of those lives. Tony Garrison is a 26-year-old graduate student, but he remembers first coming to the Lewis house when he was eight. He believes that without the guidance of his foster parents, he'd be on the streets
