May 11, 2006 -- In the wake of today's USA Today report that the National Security Agency has secretly collected phone call records on tens of millions of Americans from AT&T, Verizon, and Bell South, WMR can report that the Senate Armed Services Committee will soon hold a classified hearing in the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCIF) hearing room in the Hart Office Building on the Special Access Programs (SAPs) under which these illegal domestic surveillance programs were conducted by NSA and the Department of Defense. George W. Bush's selection as the next CIA Director, Gen. Michael Hayden, was NSA Director at the time the illegal surveillance programs were launched.
