From "Down Under
June 25, 2006 -- From "Down Under" comes word of the loss of extremely sensitive personal data. A flash memory stick belonging to a police officer with the Australian High Tech Crime Center was lost in early 2005. The details were recently revealed by police. The memory stick contained the banking details of 3500 Australians and evidence collected during the investigation of a Russian-Israeli Mafia Internet scam. Not a day goes by without another reported theft of sensitive personal data, reported by U.S. intelligence sources to part of a covert operation to populate Total Information Awareness surveillance databases.
