RIP: Gov. Ann Richards 1933-2006

Sept. 14, 2006 -- RIP Ann Richards. America has lost a leader who was one of the first to expose the Bush family as wealthy patricians who have no regard for the working people. Former Texas Governor Ann Richards was savaged by the sleazy politics of the Bushes and their consigliore Karl Rove in her 1994 re-election race against George W. Bush. Richards became a prime target for the Bush crime family after she made this comment about George H. W. "Poppy" Bush at the 1988 Democratic National Convention: "Poor George, he can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth."

Richards died yesterday at her home in Austin after battling cancer.
