Back In Baghdad...

The road to baghdad is one of the most dangerous roads in the world... I left Amman at 2 am (Jordan's Time).. reached the Jordanian borders at 6 pm.. completed my passport visa and then headed to the Iraqi Borders.. as always there was no Electricity.. the place was very dirty, and the gaurds were only bribees... At the Iraqi gate.. my driver gave the gaurd who checks our passports about 2000 ID just to let us pass without checking (and thats what happend with all the people coming to Iraq).. then we enterd Iraq... The driver told me to prepare 7000 ID for him to be given to the guard that checks our luggage.. so that he won't check it.. (and again thats what all people do just to pass the borders quickly).. when I went to do my passports.. at the Coming passerngers building.. I gave my passport and my family passports to the officer... he told me to give him 5000 ID (ID = Iraqi Dinar), I gave him the money and then he gave me the passports all done.. then I just looked up the window of the officer.. and I saw an announcement.. it said that the passports should be done freely.. and if the officer asks for money call on this number to give complaints.. I wonder what kind of people is that officer from.. I mean the order is written just two or three feets above his head and he dose not carry it out.. anyway.. I reached the final gate so that I would enter Iraq.. there were some soldiers at the gates who were supposed to check the passports.. the driver gave them about 3000 ID and they didn't check it ... I wonder about our governments when they pretend that they don't know how the terrorists enter Iraq... well, the Answer is simply check out your gaurds... they're all bribees.

After leaving the Iraqi borders and heading to Baghdad.. we drove about 1 and a half hour without stopping and it was okay.. then we faced an American patrol who was driving ahead of us.. the vehicles cars of the patrol drive very slowly.. I mean even under 70 Km/h in a high way... what do you think about that???, they do that just to excite the people.. cause from the security side.. they're doing nothing.. just delaying the people and make them nervous..we spend about 3 hours driving slowly after the American patrols.. then they stopped.. we stopped behind them.. cause they don't let cars pass by them.. we waited for a half of a hour and they didn't move.. and didn't let us pass.. DO YOU THINK THATS FAIR???..all the GMC cars that were going to baghdad went down to the desert.. we had to drive on the desert.. and went to the old free way to Baghdad.. moved a few Kms and then again we went down to the desert and returned to the High way... the road from Amman to Baghdad takes about 8 Hours..I took about 15 hours to reach Baghdad.. just because of the delaying from the American Patrols...I reached Baghdad gate at 2:30 pm.. and at that time it was 12 hours for me just sitting in the car.. just imagen that!!Baghdad gate was closed becuase there was errantry prohibiting in Baghdad wich ends at 3 pm.. (in fridays.. they make errantry prohibiting from 11 am to 3 pm.. in order to secure the friday prayer at mosques).. Anyway.. the gate opend at 3 pm.. but I enterd Baghdad (I mean passed about 1 Km) at 5 pm.. because there was a patrol at the gate which dose nothing but delaying people.

Entering Baghdad was the worsest thing that happend to me ever.. I mean I haven't seen Baghdad for three months.. and now its just not the same.. my first words were (THIS IS NOT BAGHDAD).. it was filled with both American and Iraqi tanks.. the streets were filled with barrages.. the soldiers were everywhere.. I mean is that a war forehead or a city???

I reached home about 5:30 pm, I was very exhusted.. I couldn't even stand anymore.. I just hugged my dad and said hello.. and then went to my bed and slept.

Next day.. I woke up in the morning.. there was no electricity as always.. made my self a cup of coffee and then went to the super market infront of my house.. the guy who runs the shop is my friend.. so I sat with him for about 15 minutes.. he began to describe the situation in my neighberhood the last 3 months.. the time when I was in Jordan.. He said that we experienced days without electricity and water and other services at all.. he said we couldn't leave our houses.. he said that the streets were empty.. all shops were closed.. there was no people in the streets... and he adds that every day.. they hear that someone they know got killed.. either because he was a sunni or a shitte.

In the same day.. I went out to the street in the afternoon.. about 5 pm.. stood with some friends of mine.. and heard some very optimistic news.. they said that a guy they know who lives just three blocks away from my house got kidnapped.. and that the Army found a dead body in the next block for a guy who got killed by shooting in the head..I mean what is this??? whats happening???

We started to talk about the situation in Baghdad.. and our chat ended by how will I go and get back from college everyday.. when it starts..I heard that there are some Al Mahdi militia patrols on the way to my college.. so I just don't know what to do right now.. I don't know even if I can live like this.. and in this country..

But I will say just a few words to the Iraqi and the America governments..(WHAT DID YOU DO TO US????)
