To all Iraqis who are mourning the bombing of Al-Motanabi cultural street, it seems four years were enough for Iraqis to forget that the American barbarians bombing of Iraqi National Library in 2003 caused a serious damage to the library’s archive that survived thousands of years. As you see in this rare image, shows the front entrance of the library and the damaged statue of Al-Motanabi himself, collections of invaluable books, manuscripts that thousand years old, journals, files, records, photographs and maps, were burned and what left was found under the water.
