Nothing had prepared me for the black comedy of stupidity, arrogance, incompetence, and dishonesty that I uncovered researching my documentary on Iraq.

I am no expert on the Middle East, yet I knew before March of 2003 that this was exactly the way an invasion would turn out. None of my friends were Mid East experts either, yet they all knew it, too. One can only assume those who pushed for the invasion knew it also, which leaves only one inescapable conclusion. This was not a "mistake" or "fiasco"; this is exactly what was wanted: a quagmire from which there is no escape.
Look at the money that's been raked in by the war profiteers since March of '03. It's obscene. And we're told this war is "the long war". You bet it is. It's a deliberately designed war without end, using 9/11 as the perfect excuse. For the military-industrial complex, which carries Washington in its back pocket, every day is Christmas now. We've made far more enemies in the Middle East than we had before, which was the goal. The war gets bigger and bigger; their corporate bottom line gets fatter and fatter.
