The Death of a Nation

With a whimper, America died today. George W. Bush and his Rubber Stamp Congress passed the Military Commissions Act, officially torching our Constitution. What is truly sad is the GOP thinks this is a "winner" this November. I do not believe there are people out there that truly believe in their hearts that this law represents what America is supposed to stand for. I pray I am right.

America's Dark Day

This is the day that The Magna Carta became just another piece of paper to Americans. This is the day when you opposition to the radical right could make you disappear. When I lived in Germany, I made it a point to ask older Germans that survived World War II, how they let their country be taken over by Hitler. Almost to a man, they told me that one-day they woke up and it had just happened.
