Sri Lanka navy base 'under attack'

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (Reuters) -- Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels attacked a Sri Lankan navy base and an adjoining port in the southern city of Galle on Wednesday and a battle was going on, police and military officers said.
The attack on the navy is the second in three days. Nearly 100 people, mostly sailors, were killed in a suicide bombing on a naval convoy in a north-central district on Monday.
One military officer said the attackers came in three boats and there were four explosions. The two sides continued to exchange fire, he said. >>>cont
